Fred Kolberg, a retired U.S. Navy SEAL Special Operations Independent Duty Corpsman (IDC), is the co-founder and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Trauma Training FX, Inc. (T² FX) and Tactical Training Inc. (T²).  T² FX provides combat medicine first responder training to medical and non-medical personnel following Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC) guidelines, while T² specializes in tactical training in fighting the War on Terrorism. Mr. Kolberg brings his specialized expertise and experience from the SEAL Teams and applies it to all aspects of the company.

Mr. Kolberg excelled as a Vertical Assault Master, Expert Marksman, Helicopter Rope Suspension Training Master (HRST), Tactical Field Operator, Weapons Training, Surveillance Detection, Counter Surveillance, Vehicle Dynamics Driving Instructor, Small Arms and Crew Serve Weapons Instructor, Close Quarters Battle (CQB) and many other combat skills.

Mr. Kolberg retired from the SEAL Teams in 2003 after serving his country for 21 years. Upon his retirement, Mr. Kolberg worked for the State Department, deploying to Iraq and Afghanistan where he served as Team Leader.  Following his multiple deployments to the Middle East, Mr. Kolberg was instrumental in establishing a working model for Visit Board Search and Seizure (VBSS) training for the Navy and was hand-picked by the Navy to create a training program for Riverine Warfare instruction.

Julie E. Kolberg, President

Mrs. Kolberg is the co-founder and President of Tactical Training Inc. and Trauma Training FX, Inc.

Mrs. Kolberg brings more than seventeen years of administration and financial experience to the team. She has been responsible for the management and daily operations of T² since its inception. Her knowledge and experience in business administration keeps the company progressing forward and focused on our mission.

Mrs. Kolberg is a Certified Moulage Specialist creating the realistic wounding on roles players. She also handles and sets up all the pyrotechnics that create the stressors for our client.

Prior to founding the T² training team with her husband, Mrs. Kolberg managed the finances and the office for a multi-million dollar company, assuming responsibility for the day-to-day financial decisions.

Previously, Mrs. Kolberg served as Medical Team Coordinator for The Flying Hospital, a subsidiary of nonprofit humanitarian organization Operation Blessing International. The Flying Hospital was a Lockheed L-1011 containing the world’s largest fully equipped surgical hospital ever constructed inside an aircraft. She was responsible for recruiting as well as overseeing the travel and in-country needs of the specialized teams of medical an non medical volunteers. Each mission provided free care to thousands of impoverished people in countries including Ecuador, Bolivia, Brazil, India, Russia and Ukraine.

Early in her career, Mrs. Kolberg assisted the President and CEO of a large company in the daily operations of a $160 million dollar government contracting company.

Dr. Gary Sprouse, Advising Medical Director

Dr. Gary Sprouse has been a practicing Internist in Queen Anne’s County Maryland since 1985. He has a private practice where he sees patients for a variety of medical conditions. He operated a walk-in center for years seeing patients with acute illnesses and injuries. He has been an associate professor at University of Maryland Medical School, teaching medical students about primary care medicine. Dr. Sprouse is currently working on new models for brain function, stress and addiction. He is a member of Mensa, Alpha Omega Alpha (Medical Honor Society), Maryland State Medical Society and the AMA.

Terry Rolan

Dr. Terry Rolan, Neurologist

Dr. Rolan served in the Air Force as well as the Army National Guard and received an Honorable Discharge in 1984. He is presently the Neurology Residency Program Director at the University of Missouri School of Medicine Department of Neurology. Dr. Rolan is also the Director of the Movement Disorders Clinic. He has addressed neurological disorders in numerous publications.

Dr. Rolan is presently researching the effects of Blast-Over Pressure. His current research is the “Immediate Pharmacologic Treatment of Battlefield Non-Penetrating CNS Blast Injuries from Explosive Devises.

Dr. Rolan obtained his BS in Microbiology, Summa Cum Laude, Texas Tech University; MD from Texas Tech University Health Science Center School of Medicine.

Dr. Steve Erle

CEO Trident Inc., Prior Naval Intelligence Specialist for SEAL and other Special Operations Command units. Dr .Erle, the CEO of Trident, Inc., is a prior Naval Intelligence Specialist for the SEAL and other Special Operations Command units. He is a current member of the Army Special Forces 18D combat medical program, CEO of SEAL Training Adventures, and has more than ten years of private practice experience as physician of chiropractic medicine.

Additional qualifications and expertise include being a Technical Fitness Trainer as well as instructor of small arms shooting, operational planning and execution, tactics and land navigation.

Dr. Erle is a popular author in the areas of musculo-skeletal injuries as well as military training and operations.

James Murphy
James Murphy

James H. Murphy, CEM®/MBA/BA

Mr. Murphy has more than nineteen years of task and program management experience with the military and with service-oriented companies. Major areas of concentration include complex emergency management operations, disaster medical operations, terrorism counteraction, national security, and weapons of mass destruction counter-proliferation.

Mr. Murphy has over twenty years of emergency management experience at the local, state, national and international levels, and has worked on policy issues at all levels. Mr. Murphy has over twenty-four years of total work experience in pre-hospital emergency medical service and special medical program operations.

He serves as a Senior Analyst for the NIMS Support Center, developing candidate standards and programmatic documents in support of the nation’s emergency response and emergency management systems and personnel.

Mr. Murphy serves as Senior Analyst on Project-Guardian, a DoD worldwide force protection operation, conducting vulnerability assessments / analysis and terrorism counteraction operations.

He was Test Director on technology assessments and emergency management and response exercises for multiple customers, including the Center for National Response, managed tasks, conditions and standards development for the National Guard Bureau’s Community Readiness Initiative.

He was Senior National Security Analyst on WMD counter-proliferation programs for Central Intelligence Agency and Defense Intelligence Agency, including terrorism interdiction and warning system development. He has served as a lead developer for terrorism counteraction and emergency management programs of instruction for the Department of Homeland Security and Department of Justice.
